Former KAP president says farmers will feel the pinch
Western farmers already beset by high fertilizer prices and tumbling commodity prices could feel the sting of stingier bank lending and higher interest rates amid growing fears of a worldwide financial credit crunch says a former president of the Keystone Agricultural Producers.
“We’re certainly going to see credit tightening,” David Rolfe said yesterday.
“Loans will be harder to get for business and the agricultural sector, and we’re definitely going to face higher interest rates on those loans.”
