Organizers looking to the future
Manitoba Livestock Expo organizers hope to appeal to the younger crowd this year by offering a new interactive event for kids.
Roughly 150 children in grades 3 to 5 are signed up for “Moo Mania,” where they will learn all about the local cattle industry.
“It’s important to us that the young people in our province understand where the food that they eat comes from ... and understand the role of agriculture and farmers in our lives,” said Karen Oliver, general manager of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba.
