Province must take charge

Manitoba’s much-vaunted plan to harness and exploit the province’s potential for wind energy seems to be dead in the water for want of a stiff political breeze.

And it’s a situation completely of the provincial government’s own making.

In late 2005, Manitoba Hydro and the provincial government issued a joint “expression of interest” to develop 1,000 megawatts of wind energy by 2015.
