Shares in Metanor lose more than 20 per cent after trapped miner found dead

TORONTO - Shares in Metanor Resources Inc. (TSXV:MTO) fell more than 20 per cent Monday after authorities confirmed one of three men trapped in a flooded Quebec mine was found dead.

The three workers were trapped in the company's Bachelor Lake gold mine in northern Quebec Friday night after they went down to do repair work.

Workers were still pumping water from the gold mine Monday in the hope of finding the two other miners alive.

Bruno Goulet, 36, Dominico Bollini, 44, and Marc Guay, 31, were doing repair work in a mine shaft at the Bachelor Lake facility when the flooding occurred.

The name of the dead man was not immediately released.

The junior gold miner's stock lost 12.5 cents or 21.6 per cent to 45.5 cents on a high trading volume of 4.6 million shares.
