New greeting cards let Canadians write to overseas troops

TORONTO - Canadians will have a chance to send a "Canadian Heroes" card to the troops overseas.

Hallmark Canada is introducing six "Canadian Heroes" cards to encourage people to write to the troops, even if they don't know any. The cards will be free between Nov. 9 and 11 at Hallmark Gold Crown stores across the country.

Hallmark executive Patrick Carr says Canadians want to let soldiers know their efforts are appreciated and their sacrifices noticed.

The mailing addresses for the troops overseas are found on the web site http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/commun/message/addresses-2-eng.asp
