Constellation Software reports Q3 profit of $2.7 million, down from year ago

TORONTO - Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU) reported Tuesday a third-quarter profit of US$2.7 million as revenue grew by one-third.

The business software company, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, said its profit amounted to 13 cents per diluted share for the quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with profit of $3.3 million or 16 cents per share a year ago. Revenue totalled $107.3 million, up from $80.8 million.

"Our businesses have responded well to the slowdown in the economy," the company said in a statement.

Shares in the company, which reported its results after the close of markets, were up 24 cents at $35.25 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
