Swastika sprayed on cenotaph in Woodstock, Ont., visible for Remembrance Day
WOODSTOCK, Ont. - The Remembrance Day ceremony in Woodstock, Ont., was marred by the remnants of a swastika that had been spray painted overnight on the city's cenotaph.
It was noticed by police at around 4 a.m.
Although crews tried to remove it, the symbol was still visible when veterans and others arrived for the morning ceremony.
Mayor Michael Harding made reference to the vandalism during his remarks, saying he was appalled and called it "truly sacrilegious."
There's no word on possible suspects.
